American Sewing Guild
Dedicated to "Advancing Sewing as an Art and Life Skill," the American
Sewing Guild began in March of 1993 as a national, nonprofit, and now has
over 20,000 members with 135 chapters across the nation. Members throughout
the U.S. meet and sponsor local special events, community service projects,
membership drives, fashion shows, produce local newsletters, establish
educational programs, run Neighborhood Groups, and much more. The Los
Angeles Chapter was born on March 2008 with 25 members and has grown to over 220 members today. Thirteen small neighborhood groups, including a teen
group, meet at various locations in Los Angeles County and one in Ventura
County and sponsor educational events and work on community service
projects. The Santa Clarita Neighborhood Group is excited to be involved
with such a worthwhile project such as Project Prom. We look forward to
providing alterations which will allow the students involved to look their
best in their new dress. For more information about the American Sewing Guild you may visit www.asg.org. For more information about the Los Angeles Chapter you may visit www.asgla.org.
